The following are extracts from reviews by Trustpilot. You can see all the selected reviews and the responses from Enence. Some of the reviews appear genuine but so did the information published by Ecence which made me buy one. Indeed I did not buy just the one ordered but was sent four units. A common feature in many of the reviews.
With a degree of fairness, some record positive comments. You can make up your own mind about these reviews. Go to Enence Trustpilot Reviews to read those as published.
Below you will find some extracts with which I have sympathy as I’ve experienced similar issues.
Deceptive Advertising: Buyer Beware.
Lilly – US
The translator and app do not work as advertised. It is not something that acts as an instant translator without using it simultaneously with a phone app – and even then, it does not work as advertised.
I bought two devices, one for me and one for my husband. His sort of works but is hopeless in real-life situations. Mine does not work at all. Enence obviously spent its money on advertising rather than effective product development. Since posting my review, Enence contacted me and provided a full refund, which I greatly appreciated. I hope they can produce a translator that works as claimed. It would be immensely helpful.
So Disappointed
Noel S – GB
So disappointed but like a lot of people on here the app will not work, seems a lot of messing about to send it back and you have to pay even though it does not work maybe one day they will get the app working.
I also was given 4 when I only ordered…Janet
Janet – US
Updated.. The company reached out to me and I received a refund!. I also was given 4 when I only ordered one. Called instantly they said it was too late, Minutes later????? Then asked to return, Finally they sent an email, but then I had to leave for a family crisis and return back to my home after the RMA was expired. Asked if it could be extended. Told them this has been issue since I ordered, they didn’t care. Would not renew the RMA, now stuck with 3 translators I didn’t want in the first place. BTW, they did offer to give free items of junk. Whippee!!!!! Will never buy from a company that is not understanding or compassionate!
Enence
Nancy – US
I bought 2 units from this company. On the website it did not explain that you needed your phone. So it is useless for us. I e-mailed to return, got the RMA but they want me to ship to Lithuania. Which would cost me more than the units did. I sent an e-mail to ask if there was another location to send. Have not heard back after 1 week of waiting.
SCAMMER COMPANY
Craig – CA
I reside in Southern Ontario and I ordered 2 Enence translators and 2 hours later I realized that it did not translate the language I wanted it for so I cancelled the order which was confirmed by Enence. 24-hours later the company shipped the product even though the order was cancelled. It arrived at the delivery company in Mississauga, Ontario, about 10 days later but Enence failed to issue a ‘Stop Delivery’ order and it was delivered to my residence. To return the item, they requested that it be sent to Lithuania at a cost equivalent to the price of the unit. But, it is not returned to the Enence company in Lithuania, it’s returned to a distribution company in Lithuania that also has a distribution centre in Kitchener, Ontario. I returned the package unopened to the local shipping company in Mississauga, Ontario, and now they want me to pay the local shipping company to return the package back to my residence and then I have to pay to ship it to Lithuania. This is a scam company. They ship cancelled orders intentionally and make it costly to return the items and then they can claim high sales in their marketing and advertising because nobody will return the product to Lithuania. The order was cancelled within 2 hours after it was placed and they want me to pay for their blatant error. I’m out of pocket almost $200 and the translator is with their shipping company in Mississauga. They advertise that the Enence translator is the ‘best translator on the market’. Don’t deal with this company. This company has a F-rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
Phone App Won’t Open
Lars – US
The phone app remains stuck on the Scanning For Devices page even though both the phone and device says the connection was successful. Talked to their customer service and submitted the requested support form without receiving any further response from them after more than a month. This is a complete write-off since the return shipping cost to Lithuania exceeds the cost of the product.
Enence disappointment
Daniel – US
Tried to cancel order a few hours after ordering since my niece was not at her previous position where this would have been good I was told it was already shipped out of courisity. I looked on eBay sorry I did not do it first they are $35 on eBay NOT $89 after so-called discount.
Still having problems …
Netty – US
Once again I am writing to advise people to STAY AWAY from this company. I’m still waiting for a refund after I was told everything was ready to be taken care of but that I had to close my dispute on pay pal and the they would immediately issue a refund to my account. I did what they requested and they still haven’t done anything and are now not responding to my emails. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!
Enence.com. This is a total scam don’t fall for it
Elaine – US
This is a total scam don’t fall for it. First of all the default is 4 translation devices but I clicked on 1 device before proceeding. Next you will have to enter the credit card payment information in order to continue with your order. There’s no summary of what you’ve ordered & before you know it you would have to confirm to move on (confirm what?, no SUMMARY). When I received the email confirmation of purchasing 4 devices when I only ordered 1 I immediately replied back within a few minutes & requested them to cancel but they never replied back. I received 4 devices in the mail & it’s total trash as your iphone has an app that provides the same translation service for better sound quality. Don’t fall for it. It’s a total scam. The advertisement video shows that you only need the device & it totally translates for you but in reality you will need your cell phone with you & internet service. Why get it if your phone app does a better job translating. So frustrated that I’m out of money & sadly I see a lot of people here are in the same boat as me. I wish I found this website sooner.
